SkinX is a tech-enabled funding platform that takes an old, familiar fund structure and adds entertainment to turn investing into a gamified experience for everyone. To operate our fund, SkinX has the first and only deal flow engine sourcing untapped opportunities from nearly every zip code in America. SkinX has built the first and only founder-driven, comprehensive, automated diligence software in the market. The entire platform, the fund and the software have been built to be licensed as a turn-key solution. SkinX has a patent-pending and the first fund is live ready to announce to the public in July. In January 2021 we will broadcast the first “Skinvestor Telecast” where shareholders vote approval on businesses SkinX wants to fund.
Entrepreneurship has become a spectator sport. With ten million people watching Shark Tank and fifty million people playing on Kickstarter putting billions of dollars towards high risk projects with no hope of a return…clearly everyone wants to get in the game. SkinX targets these groups and every American that wants skin in the game. Now more than ever Americans want to feel some sense of control, some access to the game that up until now has shut them out. Skin gives every American a chance to run the game deciding where good jobs get created, which problems get solved and have a chance of making money on the most innovative, growing businesses in the country.
SkinX is the first to invite the general public, non-accredited investors to invest in a fund that invests in privately held businesses. Here’s what we’re like and how it’s different.
Like a mutual fund, in that it's an SEC registered 40 ACT Fund… but our fund invests in privately held assets not correlative with the market.
Like venture capital, investing in exciting, growing, businesses…but our fund has millions of non-accredited shareholders in an SEC registered fund.
Like Kickstarter, with millions contributing billions of dollars… but Skinvestors have a hope of return with shares in a real, vetted portfolio.
Like Shark Tank, using television to engage the public…. but the viewers are the sharks, debating and voting on investments.
SkinX has been 5 years in the making. The founder Nicole Loftus spent the first year researching the venture capital system and alternative funding, a year plus building the unique fund model with K&L Gates, two years building out the technology (diligence and deal flow) and more than a year workshopping the entertainment experience for shareholders.
The SkinX Fund Advisor is registered, the first SkinX Fund is live and will be announced in June. Edelman has been engaged to build the brand and start the promotional campaign. Netflix and NBCUniversal are being considered for distribution of the first telecast “Skin in the Game.”
The diligence software called The Locker is built with the first application complete and the remainder of the 900 data fields wireframed ready to complete in 8 weeks. The deal flow engine called The Resource Hub is live today. The team is built with a few key roles nearly filled with candidates identified.
The promotional campaign begins in July. In August a call for applicants seeking funding will go out through our 3,612 resources and the press. The fund will start selling shares to the general public in August. Sponsors will be signed throughout the rest of 2020. The first shareholder telecast will premiere in January 2021.
